PETS – Dogs and Cats are required to have a license. Proof of rabies and proof of spayed/neutered must be shown before a license can be issued. License fee for spayed/neutered is $3 per year. If not spayed or neutered, $15 per year. Licenses are renewable on or before July 1st, annually.
PETS MUST BE CONFINED TO YOUR PROPERTY!
TRASH/GARBAGE – Residential pick-up is Thursday. You must have garbage out by 4:30 a.m.
RECYCLE BINS ARE AVAILABLE AT CITY HALL.
• The following items CANNOT be taken. These items are: microwaves, tires,concrete, hide-a-beds, any batteries, railroad ties, any oil and oil products (oil filters, gaskets, etc.) or antifreeze.
• The City of Oakland does NOT provide a ‘heavy day’ pick up. Items can be taken to the Pott. Co. transfer station in Hancock or the Recycling Center in Council Bluffs at 4441 Gifford Road.
YARD WASTE – Can be taken to the City Compost pile, located ¼ mile west of town on G42. This is only for grass clippings, leaves, and weeds. Bags must be biodegradable. There is a seperate pile for tree branches.
